1 5 things to do in Goa when on a short trip

You’re finally in Goa but you don’t have much time on your hands. You still want to get the Goan experience though. What should you do in this limited time period? We’ve rounded up a few things that’ll give you the taste of Goa:

1) Dudhsagar Waterfalls

This waterfall is one of the highlights of Goa. Located near Kulem, Dudhsagar is a gorgeous cascade against a vibrant, green backdrop. The water gushing down makes it seem like a stream of milk being poured, hence the name ‘Dudhsagar’, which literally translates to ‘an ocean of milk.’ This is one of nature’s wonders that definitely deserves a visit.

2) Basilica of Bom Jesus

Old Goa Church as it is popularly known, the Basilica of Bom Jesus is arguably the most famous church in Goa. Along with its gorgeous architecture and the fact that it has been beautifully preserved, this church attracts visitors in hoards because of its one key attraction; the preserved body of St. Francis Xavier is housed here.

3) Anjuna Flea Market

Come Wednesday, Anjuna beach is home to this local flea market. Clothes, artifacts, souvenirs; this is one market that has it all, and that too, at a bargain price! Put your haggling skills to the test as you decide which of the various Goan delicacies on offer you want to take back home.

4) Fort Aguada

Goa’s foremost fort, Aguada should be on every tourist’s itinerary. The main intention of building the fort was to guard Goa against the Dutch and the Marathas and as such, the fort had a fortified defense system and was heavily armed during the Portuguese rule. Located about 18 km from Panjim, Fort Aguada is near the mouth of the river Mandovi. It is one of the largest in Goa.

5) Nightlife

It is a well known fact that Goa is India’s party hub. North Goa in particular, boasts of some of the hippest nightclubs around. With parties that go on till the wee hours of the morning, we think your trip might be just a little incomplete without a visit to one of these. Tito’s night club (https://www.titos.in/) in the Baga-Calangute areas is one of our favourites and definitely one that you should check out!
