1 4 tips to help you destress

Our last blog covered a list of activities to do in Goa during the festive season. Now that the festive season is nearing its end, it would be fair to say that most of us will be taking a break from all the hectic partying that is all too telling of December. Here are a few simple tips for de stressing and unwinding:

1) Exercise

Simply moving your body can go a long way towards alleviating stress. When you make exercise a part of your daily routine, you feel naturally more energetic, thus putting you in a better position to deal with your stress.

Your exercise routine doesn’t need to be overly intense or hardcore; the key is to make sure you keep moving your body. Opt for exercises that you enjoy and best fit your exercise goals.

2) Watch what you eat

We don’t mean obsessively, of course. As with most things in life, the key is moderation. Indulge in the occasional cheat meal, but don’t make it a habit. And considering that December is a cheat month for most of us, our system could do with a little break from the over indulgence.

3) Get enough sleep

You won’t be doing yourself or anybody else any favours if you skip out on your sleep. Lack of sleep can affect you work output negatively along with being a cause of stress. The quality of your sleep counts as much as the hours. If your sleep is restful and devoid of tossing and turning, you’ll wake up feeling like a new person. Exercise is a great way of ensuring a peaceful snooze.

4) Meditate

Mediation has been proven to reduce heart disease risk factors such as high blood pressure. Take 5 minutes out of your schedule everyday to meditate, it’ll do you a world of good!
