The land of sugar, spice and everything nice has quite a few stellar attractions to its name. Here are a few we think you should take a look at and try out, these are some of Goa’s best.
1) Baga Beach
By far one of Goa’s most beach and with good reason. A hub of activity, this beach is famous for water sports such as parasailing, banana rides and dolphin cruises. Watch the sun go down while you lounge on a deck chair for the ultimate Goa experience. This beach also has a thriving nightlife scene with some of Goa’s hottest nightclubs (Tito’s, Mambo’s, etc.) in the area.
2) Mangeshi temple
Mangeshi temple is one of the largest and most visited temples in Goa. This Lord Shiva temple is situated in South Goa. A bit of trivia here; it is situated in the village that is also famous for being native village of the Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar. Some of the major festivals celebrated in the temple are Ram Navami, Shivratra, Dussehra, Akshay Tritiya, etc. If you’re looking to visit this temple, be mindful of timings (6 am to 10 pm) and of your attire!
3) Crocodile sightings and visits to the spice plantation
Enjoy a slow cruise along Tiswadi’s Cumbarjua canal and catch sightings of wild crocodiles and birds and view the Goan countryside first hand. End your trip by taking a tour of local spice plantations. End the day with a rustic meal, full of authentic Goan flavours.
4) Mandovi river cruise
Starting from the Santa Monica Boat Jetty and Panaji Jetty on Mandovi river, this has all the potential to be the highlight of your Goa trip. Watching the sunset while on the river cruise is a truly ethereal experience. These cruise trips are full of life, what with the local dance performance and music shows that they have on board.
5) Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary
Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary is located at Mollem village in Sanguem Taluka.
This is the largest of the four protected wildlife sanctuaries in Goa.The Sanctuary is particularly famous for its leopards, elephants, deer and gaur (Indian bison). A star attraction of this sanctuary is the king cobra.
